Linux Systems Administrator

This role will support a training environment. Set up, configure and deploy servers . Patch and backup management. Monitor processes on servers and application availability. Manage access controls policies and implementation. Automate tasks and integrate applications .
A System Administrator with Linux experience is needed provide administration and operational support in virtualized , container and cloud environments. The candidate will need a proactive attitude, problem solving skills and the ability to work as individual. To be successful in this role the candidate will need to be well versed in linux command line and processes.
Primary Responsibilities
• Provide system administration/engineering for mission and analytic networks. This will include but is not limited to:
• User account management, administration, access/controls and support
• Installation and configuration of workstations and peripherals
• Kernel parameter and disk partition modification
• Support to LAN infrastructure
• Client-server support, software and hardware upgrades, network administration troubleshooting, and shell script programming.
• Provide regression testing on new software releases • Perform periodic system back-ups and developing/documenting standard operating procedures for these activities
• Able to analyze alerts from various monitoring tools and take appropriate actions during troubleshooting
• Administer and maintain Linux server infrastructure in production
• Maintains system performance by performing system monitoring and analysis, performance tuning, troubleshooting system hardware, software, and operating system issues
• Research and recommend automated approaches for system administration task
Basic Qualifications
• Bachelors Degree is highly desired but is not required or requisite experience
• Relevant Certifications will count toward experience requirement
• Linux Systems Administration experience is required.
• System administration experience with RedHat/CentOS 5, 6, 7 and Windows Server 2003, 2008 is also required.
• Virtualization experience (VMware vCenter, ESXi, KVM)
• Experience with either UNIX or Windows System Administration, to include user account administration, installation and configuration of workstations and peripherals, kernel parameter and disk partition modification, client-server support, software and hardware upgrades, troubleshooting, and shell script programming.
• Experience with LVM, Network Configuration, Performance tuning
• Automation Experience: Ansible and shell scripting
• Documentation experience
